The Wave Wall Staircase is a dramatic and multi–functional structure located on the South Dock Promenade at Navy Pier Chicago.
Inspired by the Spanish Steps in Rome, the Wave Wall is a louvered façade that transitions into a grand stair, connecting the South Dock to the upper-level amusement park. The stairs are 30,000 square feet and provide south-facing views of Lake Michigan. They are not only used for their traditional purpose of creating an upward connection but also serve as a seating and social space. The Wave Wall Staircase is a stunning centerpiece of Navy Pier that provides a beautiful backdrop and a special place to appreciate the beauty of Lake Michigan.
